At The Corner House, we recognise that every resident is unique—with their own preferences, routines, and ways to relax. That’s why our home offers a variety of thoughtfully designed spaces to suit individual needs and lifestyles.
CCTV
Through family feedback and then by consulting staff and residents alike, we introduced CCTV to all communal areas. The introduction has increased trust with all stakeholders and has been a success whereby matters and concerns have been addressed positively. Given our client group , there are incidents without witnesses so CCtv has given insights where to improve and build relationships with family, or often the case alleviate concerns.
Even though introduced over a year ago, we are still one of the only homes to take this bold step in North Essex.
Quiet Lounge
Our Quiet Lounge provides a calm and peaceful retreat—perfect for reading a favourite book, listening to music, or simply enjoying a quiet moment. It's also a welcoming space to share a cup of tea and a slice of cake with family and friends.
Whether residents are looking for calm and solitude or lively conversation and connection, our environment has been carefully created to support choice, comfort, and wellbeing—ensuring that everyone feels at home.
The Gardens
At The Corner House, we believe that regular time spent outdoors has a positive impact on our residents’ emotional, physical, and overall wellbeing. That’s why our beautifully maintained gardens are an integral part of daily life at our home.
Several of our ground floor bedrooms feature private patio doors, offering direct access to the garden and a peaceful view to enjoy at any time. In addition, all of our communal areas open out onto the gardens, making it easy and natural for residents to step outside and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and changing seasons.
Whether it's a gentle stroll, a chat on the patio, or simply sitting and enjoying the flowers and birdsong, we actively encourage our residents to spend time outdoors throughout the year—supporting independence, relaxation, and a deeper sense of wellbeing.
The Temple Bar
The Temple Bar is more than just a lounge—it’s a special social hub where our residents can unwind and enjoy their favourite drinks in a cheerful, relaxed atmosphere. With a fruit machine and slot machine, lively music, and comfortable seating, it offers the feel of a traditional pub right within the home.
It’s a place for laughter, entertainment, and shared moments, whether enjoying a quiet drink, celebrating a birthday, or catching up with loved ones. The Temple Bar is also an ideal venue for family gatherings and private occasions, offering a familiar and fun setting that residents and their guests can truly enjoy.

At The Corner House, our dining room is a central part of daily life, offering more than just meals—it provides a true restaurant-style experience in the comfort of home. Our dedicated team ensures that the tables are beautifully set each day, creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere where residents can enjoy their meals with dignity and delight.
Comfortable, Cosy, and Personalised Spaces
Each of our bedrooms at The Corner House is designed to be comfortable, cosy, and a true retreat for our residents. All rooms are fully furnished with high-quality essentials to ensure a safe and restful environment.
To help residents feel truly at home, we warmly encourage them and their families to bring personal items—such as photographs, ornaments, small pieces of furniture, or favourite décor. These familiar touches help to create a personalised space that reflects each resident’s personality, memories, and style.

Our Sun Lounge
Our Sun Lounge is a vibrant and welcoming space where many of our daily activities take place. Filled with natural light and comfortable seating, it’s the perfect environment for residents to come together, socialise, engage, and unwind.
The lounge is equipped with modern technology, allowing residents to enjoy a variety of entertainment options—from movie afternoons and musical sessions to relaxation therapies and guided activities. Whether it’s joining a group event, exploring new interests, or simply enjoying some quiet time in the sunshine, the Sun Lounge offers something for everyone.
