Charming Millard Care Home
Millard House has recently been upgraded to offer excellent and homely accommodation. The comfort and happiness of our residents is our prime concern.
The home is purpose built and designed to provide specialist care in a comfortable, bright & secure environment. We operate a keypad security system to access and/or exit the building, ensuring 24 hour safety of the residents. A lift is available.
The Lounges
Large windows allow plenty of natural light to fill the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the day. Each lounge provides a perfect setting for relaxation, social gatherings, and entertainment, whether residents wish to enjoy a quiet moment with a book, engage in friendly conversation, or participate in group activities.
For those who enjoy music or television, the lounges are equipped with high-quality sound systems and large screens, ensuring a pleasant experience for all. Thoughtfully arranged seating areas encourage connection and companionship, fostering a true sense of community within a homely environment.
The Gardens
Our outdoor spaces are designed to be both functional and tranquil, allowing residents to enjoy nature in a safe and comfortable environment. The beautifully maintained garden at the back of the building offers plenty of shaded areas, making it the perfect spot to unwind on warm, sunny days. Whether enjoying a quiet stroll, socializing with friends, or simply taking in the peaceful surroundings, residents have the freedom to use the space in a way that suits them best.
The stunning mural in our garden, created in collaboration with the Art and Social Group from Braintree, adds a vibrant and artistic touch to the outdoor area, making it an uplifting place to spend time. This partnership highlights our commitment to bringing creativity and community spirit into our home, ensuring that our residents not only feel comfortable but also inspired.
At Millard House, we believe that access to outdoor spaces is essential for well-being. Whether relaxing in the conservatory, enjoying the fresh air in the garden, or participating in outdoor activities, residents have the opportunity to stay connected to nature while benefiting from a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Rooms
The dining area is tastefully decorated and looks out onto the garden. Hot and cold drinks are available 24 hours.
We have 41 bedrooms. The residents have a choice of either a walk in shower or the use of an assisted bathroom. Our carers also provide assistance with dressing, dining and mobility, as required.
CCTV Introduction for Well Being
Through family feedback and then by consulting staff and residents alike, we introduced CCTV to all communal areas. The introduction has increased trust with all stakeholders and has been a success whereby matters and concerns have been addressed positively. Given our client group , there are incidents without witnesses so CCtv has given insights where to improve and build relationships with family, or often the case alleviate concerns.
Even though introduced over a year ago, we are still one of the only homes to take this bold step in North Essex.
